In 2025, we’re reflecting on an incredible year at the John Haynes Foundation. From empowering students to creating new opportunities for growth, 2024 was a year of expansion, inspiration, and positive impact. Here’s a recap of what we accomplished and a look at how we plan to continue our journey in the year ahead.
We kicked off the year with our first-ever coaching program for adult students at The City of Liverpool College. This was a key milestone as we began to work with adult learners, equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to succeed both personally and professionally.
February saw us continuing to deliver courses at The City of Liverpool College, making great strides in providing impactful education. We also worked with Simon Ross to promote our upcoming Gala Dinner, preparing for an event that would help us further our mission and connect with more supporters.
In March, we delivered a course to the residents at Veterans Launchpad, helping veterans transition successfully into civilian life by equipping them with essential life skills and tools for their personal development.
April brought new networking opportunities as our Interim CEO, Hilda Yarker, met with key stakeholders from the Liverpool City Region Skills for Life Team. These discussions were crucial in exploring the potential for the John Haynes Foundation to become a training provider, enabling us to offer even more opportunities for growth and development. John Haynes had also expressed his passion for running Skills for Life Bootcamps, envisioning even more ways to serve the community.
In June, we were excited to launch several website blogs and content that shared valuable insights on personal and professional development. We also celebrated the amazing achievement of Kathryn Gordon, one of our coaches, who won the prestigious Merseyside Women of the Year Award.
In July, our Deputy Chair, Andrew Dwerryhouse, was honoured with the Chief Executive’s Award 2024 at the Downtown in Business City of Liverpool Business Awards. This was a testament to his hard work and dedication to our mission. Additionally, we successfully delivered a Masterclass course to ESOL students at The City of Liverpool College and participated in a media opportunity with Hilda on the Des Flanagan radio show to promote our Gala Dinner.
August saw us filming with Lexie Cain, the 2023 City of Liverpool College Young Eagle of the Year, to share her incredible journey for our 2024 Gala Dinner. It was an inspiring moment that showcased the success of our programs and the positive impact we have on the lives of young individuals.
September was the month of our highly anticipated Gala Dinner, where we came together to celebrate our achievements and raise awareness for our cause. The event was a huge success and served as a platform for future collaboration, partnerships, and growth.
In November, we launched the Future Foundations Programme at Wirral Metropolitan College, working with Aspiring Professional students over six weeks. This program focused on building confidence, developing resilience, and unlocking potential, helping students prepare for their futures in a rapidly changing world.
As we move into 2025, we are filled with excitement and optimism for the future. We plan to continue delivering impactful programs that empower individuals, support personal growth, and make a lasting difference in the communities we serve. Our goal is to expand our reach, become a registered training provider, and create even more opportunities for people to ‘Fly with the Eagles.’
We can’t wait to continue this journey with all of you in 2025. Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to another year of making a difference! Explore more about us here.
